Monique Vermeulen graduated with highest honors in saxophone from the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, where she also earned a diploma in Chamber Music. She was a laureate of the National Instrument Competition in Charleroi and received the prize for the best interpretation of a 20th-century composition. She has collaborated with orchestras such as the Flemish Opera Orchestra and the orchestra of the Lemmens Institute. Currently, she is a saxophonist with the ensemble La Passione. In addition to her performance career, she is a faculty member at the Municipal Academy for Music, Word, and Dance in Lier.
