The Austrian-born Jan Schweiger studied choral and orchestral conducting at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He was musical director of several choirs in Austria and Germany, as well as a singer in the Arnold Schoenberg Choir, where he sang among others under Erwin Ortner, Sir Simon Rattle and Claudio Abbado.
From 2007 to 2013 he was choir director and conductor in Heidelberg and was honored for his work with the PRICE OF FRIENDS CIRCLE of 2009.
Since the season 2013 | 14, Jan Schweiger is choirmaster at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Antwerp, Belgium.
